Each Coach of the “The Golden Chariot - Pride of The South” has been named after the dynasties that ruled Karnataka - Kadamba, Hoysala, Rastrakota, Ganga, Chalukya, Bhahamani, Adhilshahi, Sangama, Shathavashna, Yudukula and Vijayanagar.

Arrive at Yeshwantpur Railway Station, Platform

(Please note that you would have to climb close to 700 steps to experience the architectural marvel. Only those who can undertake this are advised to do so. This is available to the passengers at no extra cost)

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1 - Bangalore - Chennai (Monday)

Meeting point at theTaj West End at 15.00 hrs
After High Tea at Banquet Hall proceed to Chitrakala Parishad / Art Gallery. Towards the evening check In at the Bangalore Railway Station on your hotel train "The Golden Chariot – Splendor of The South“ you comfortable home for the next week.
Departure for Chennai at: 22.00 hrs

Day 2 - Mamallapuram & Chennai (Tuesday)

Arrival at Chennai: 06.00 hrs
Excursion to Mamallapuram, also known as MAHABALIPURAM an ancient coastal port, south of Chennai, world famous for its shore temple..

Lunch at Mamallapuram. After lunch we proceed to visit the city of Chennai.

Proceed for a sightseeing tour of Chennai covering ‘St. Mary’s Church’, Saint Thomas Cathedral, Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Sri Parathasarathy Temple, National Art Gallery and Museum, Drive past the High Court Building, Fort St. George and the famous film studios. Towards the evening return to the train and dinner onboard.
Departure for Pondicherry after the dinner.

Day 3 - Pondicherry (Wednesday)

Arrival at Pondicherry: 08:00 hrs
Sightseeing tour of Pondicherry, visiting Auroville.
After diner the train continuous to Tiruchirapalli at around: 22:00 p.m.

Day 4 - Tiruchirapalli & Thanjavur (Thursday)

Arrival in Tiruchirapalli early in the morning and visit
‘The Rock Fort Temple’. Proceed for a sightseeing tour of Tanjore where you will visit temples. The most famous landmark is the Brihadeshwara temple, which is now a world heritage site.

Day 5 - Madurai (Friday)

Arrival in Madurai: 08:00 hrs
Proceed for a sightseeing tour of Madurai – The primary interest is the Meenakshi Temple, Thirumalai Nayak Palace & Thiruparangundram temple.

Day 6 - Kanyakumari / Thiruvananthapuram(Trivandrum) (Saturday)

The tour begins in the morning with Sunrise at Kanyakumari ( Cape camorin).  Kanyakumari is southern most district of Tamilnadu state. Breakfast and Lunch will be served on board and in the afternoon depart to Thiruvananthapuram. In the evening there will be a Gala Dinner and Cultural Show at The Leela Kovalam.
Overnight in train while it departs for Alleppey.

Day 7 - Backwaters & Kochi / Allepey (Sunday)

Arrival in Allepey: 09:00 hrs
From Alappuzha we will take you to Kumarakom. Lunch at kumarakom and afterwards drive to Kochi (|Cochin)and visit “The Dutch Palace Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church. In the evening Kathakali dance and dinner. Departure at 22:00 hrs for Bangalore

Day 8 - Bangalore (Monday)

Arrival at Bangalore in the Morning.
After breakfast departure to your next destination.
